The dates and times for in-class final exams can be viewed on Course Listings, on class schedules at WebSTAC, and at WebFAC under Courses and Rosters.
When a course has an exam code of No Final, Paper/Project/Take Home, Final Critique, See Department or See Instructor, it means that no in-room sit down final exam is scheduled during the regular final exam period. Check with your instructor for details about any end of term requirements.
Students are encouraged to check their final exam schedule during registration to see how many exams they may have on a given day. Students should also verify final exam dates and times with their instructors before arranging end-of-semester travel plans.
Final examinations will be given in regularly scheduled classrooms when possible. However, students and instructors should always check online for the most current location.

Refer to the Fall 2020 Final Exam matrix for exam dates and times.
Refer to the final exam matrix links above to see when final exam dates and times for a given semester are assigned. When an in-class final exam is assigned to a course, the assigned final exam date and time is determined in one of two ways:
1) By the standard days and times that a course regularly meets during the semester
- Classes scheduled at non-standard times are assigned to the exam period corresponding to the closest standard class time
2) By type of course, regardless of standard meeting pattern
- “By type of course” exams are referred to as “block exams”
- Block exams are usually reserved for large classes with multiple sections
Please note that exam dates and times may vary by school and/or program (especially in the graduate and pre-professional programs).
Here are a two examples to help you understand how to read the final exam matrix.
Example for Standard Class Times:
If you are enrolled in a Spring 2021 MWF class that meets from 10:00am-10:50am, your final exam will be on Tuesday, May 11th from 10:30am-12:30pm (see exam code 12).
Example for Block Exams:
If you are enrolled in Spring 2021 section 01 of Introduction to Psychology (L33 100B) on MWF from 10:00am-10:50am, your final will not be on Tuesday, May 11th from 10:30am-12:30pm. Your final will be on Wednesday, May 12th from 3:30pm-5:30pm (see exam code 19). This is because Introduction to Psychology is assigned to a block exam time, even though both sections of this course meet at different standard times (section 01 meets on MWF from 10:00am-10:50am and section 02 meets on MWF from 12:00pm-12:50pm).
