The student data in SIS includes academic detail for each individual student such as program(s) of study, academic advisors, courses and grades, degrees conferred, honors awarded, academic actions, grade point average, and enrollment status.  SIS also contains demographic data on each student, contact information, and administrative information such as any Holds there may be on the student’s record.

Student record data in the SIS database environment dates back to the mid-1970’s.  Older hardcopy records dating back to the university’s founding in 1854 are on permanent archive in the Office of the University Registrar; many of these old records have been digitally scanned for ease of use and preservation of the original document.

Official transcripts for records in the SIS database are generated on demand and reflect the current/latest information on the student’s record.  Official transcripts for records which pre-date the SIS database are certified reproductions of the original hardcopy document.  Information about requesting an official transcript is available on the Transcripts web page.

All genealogical requests for transcripts or additional student information should be submitted in writing to the University Registrar.
