A transcript is an academic record of all coursework completed at Washington University in St. Louis and any degrees earned.

Official transcripts are printed on security paper, carry the institutional seal of the University and bear the signature of the university registrar to certify the document’s authenticity. Official transcripts are issued only by written student consent and when ordered via Parchment, except in limited circumstances where consent is not required. Unofficial transcripts are available in self-service WebSTAC for internal use on campus and for students to verify the contents of their record.

Degrees
Degrees awarded by Washington University will appear on the transcript with the degree date, as well as second majors, minors and certificates that have been completed.

Degree dates are the final day of the semester, which is the end of the final exam period, for all terms. Degrees are posted retroactively after the grading deadline has passed, degree requirements are confirmed and the Board of Trustees has approved the list of degree candidates. Transcripts reflect the official degree date regardless of the date the degree was conferred.

Coursework
The transcript is a chronological record of the Washington University coursework for which a student registered. Courses are designated by their offering department/subject, the course title and the course number. Details about course levels and descriptions may be found in the Bulletin.

Credit Hours and Grades

The reverse side of the official transcript contains a “key” that provides information on grade scales, grade points and symbols in use, which can differ by school and program. Details about current grading policies should be reviewed in the Bulletin.

Latin Honors
The graduation Honors of Summa Cum Laude, Magna Cum Laude, and Cum Laude are displayed with the degree earned.
