First-year, transfer and exchange students’ registration will vary depending on their academic academic unit and program of study. Below are lists of contacts and registration information specific to those designated areas.

You are encouraged to check your WashU email account regularly, at least twice a week all summer, as your academic unit/program of study will send you important updates about course registration and other timely to-do items.

First-year student course registration

Register online at your assigned registration time. You will receive information from your academic unit or program regarding your assigned time.

Beyond Boundaries Program

College of Arts & Sciences

You will be emailed the name and contact information of your four-year advisor. Information on pre-registration steps will be provided for you and you will contact your advisor to arrange a time to discuss your academic interests and fall course options. After this discussion, your advisor will approve you to register for classes online during your assigned time on July 9, 10, or 11, 2024. 

Arts & Sciences students will have an opportunity to preregister for some classes. Look on the Arts & Sciences first-year student resource page for more information.

Olin Business School

All incoming business students will be assigned an academic advisor and an Olin Peer Ambassador (OPA).

You will receive registration materials from your academic advisor. You will be contacted by your advisor to discuss how to choose and register for your classes online. You will register for classes online during your assigned time on July 9, 10, or 11, 2024.

McKelvey School of Engineering

You will receive an email with the name of your four-year advisor in Engineering Undergraduate Student Services and specific information about your registration process. Review the online registration information thoroughly and contact your four-year advisor for more information or help with questions about course registration for your first semester. You will then register for courses online during your assigned time on July 9, 10, or 11, 2024.

Sam Fox School of Design & Visual Arts: Architecture and Art

You will receive an email with the name of your Four-Year Advisor (FYA) and specific information about your registration process. Review the online registration information thoroughly and contact your FYA for more information or to help with questions about course registration for your first semester. You will then register for courses online during your assigned time on July 9, 10, or 11, 2024.

Advising and registration information is emailed to students and posted on Inside Sam Fox. For further questions, students should contact Joseph Fitzpatrick or John Early who will be happy to answer questions.
